We had a wonderful stay at Mettadhura. It is located amongst plum peach apricot orchards with a fantastic view of the Himalayas! Imagine waking up to Nandadevi the moment your eye opens, yes that’s the view from your bed!! When we visited, plum, peach and apricot were blossoming and it gives you a Japanese cherry blossom vibe. Right from the concept of the place(with mud, stone and wooden architecture)to the hospitality( Bhuvan makes very homelike pahadi khana, the bhang kaddu preparation is going to stay with me). Mriganka made sure we had a comfortable yet memorable experience and he went beyond our expectations to help us in everyway he could, be it procuring local produce or exploring some hidden gems a few hikes away, he made sure we had the ‘ Himalayan’ experience. I would highly recommend this place if you are seeking for some peaceful solace and prefers a digital detox.

My wife and me had a beautiful stay here. The cottage is very well done with lots of natural light. We woke up in the morning to chirping birds instead of regular phone alarm which was just awesome. Mriganka personally took care of all our meals specially gluten restrictions for my wife and gave us awesome mutton along with local kumaon cuisine. He even packed us food for our trip back home which no host ever has. We tasted his inhouse wine and jams with were out of this world. Next time I cross almora , I will definately stay or stop over here. Very highly recommended.

This was a fabulous stay. We had visited as a group of friends, not quite sure of either the location or the place where we were to stay. It turned out to be a great decision. Dhura is a small village blessed with Oak, Rhododendron, and Cedar forests, fruit orchards, a laid-back pace, and a magnificent view of the Himalayan peaks from Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, to even Panchachuli and the Garhwal ranges like Chaukhumba. The buransh flowers had started to bloom and the apricot blossoms were splendid too. The host had just started his operations a short while back and the place was almost new. The cottage spoke of the host's taste and class and showed a great use of local ingredients in its construction. All the convenience amenities were lavishly provided with heaters and bonfires and even a wood furnace ensuring the cold was no deterrent. The bathroom fixtures, the small things all made our comfort an assured thing. Most of all it was the host who was a pleasure to interact with. Educated, enthusiastic, with a passion for the mountains and local traditions, Mriganka was guiding us to lovely trips and preparing sumptuous delicacies that made us lick our fingers. The stars are something one can get lost in, and the pristine forest enchanted us all. We spent two memorable days here. Next time it will be longer.

Mriganka is a really good host, thank you to his wife, Rahul and all the staff members to make us feel at home. The place is beyond our expectations, beautiful view from the windows, clean and really comfortable. We would have loved to stay more and will recommend 100%. Rahul took us trekking and it was a wonderful memory of ours. Food is excellent, feels really like home. If you have the opportunity to visit Uttarakhand, I would definitely advise you to stay at MettāDhura. You'll definitely find quietness, peacefulness, nature and hospitality.

A great place to connect with nature. The landscape that ends with magnificent central Himalayan range gave me peace indeed. The last 500 meters of kachcha village road leading to the property enriched its seclusion. Enjoyed sound of chirping birds. Host Mriganka was very much friendly and his passion about nature I liked a lot. Lastly one thing I must mention, while the serenity, isolation, silence made the place travelers heaven, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea..

We had an amazing few days at Mriganka’s place - I wish we could have stayed longer! The property is even better in person than the photos and the view is spectacular. It is cozy, homely and you’ll get a great night’s sleep. Mriganka is a great host and made us feel right at home. The stand out part of the trip for me was the food; Mriganka’s chefs are incredibly talented and it was the best food I’ve ever had in India. We also got to cook with them, which was lovely. We had an absolutely peaceful stay here. Mriganka is a wonderful host. He had a great balance of being there for us proactively and respecting our personal space. The stay is so serene. Full of greenery and deep silence. The architecture of the space, every design element from the open kitchen to the tile choices is thought out consciously to create a sense of connection with the space. The staff, Vinod and Jagdish, have become some of our favourite people. The served us soulful food with the brightest smiles. We are definitely coming back here. No second thoughts.

Great place, great host, great food and above all Mriganka is great human being. Without exaggerating Mriganka is the best host that I have ever come across and I have been using Airbnb for last 5 years across the world. Mriganka’s property refreshingly unique, lot of thought has gone in every bit of it to give out of the world experience to the guests. His focus on procuring local and fresh ingredients for preparing Kumaoni cuisine is unique. We never for a moment felt that we came to new a place. If you’re planning a trip and want unique experience be it property, food and above all great host then I would highly recommend this place.

Dear Mriganka and Bhuvan, You made our stay just amazing. The experience we had there is totally different from the ones which I had in all over the world. Winter cozy atmosphere in cute decorated cabin , tasty food which were cooked with love of Bhuvan, (I spent almost 4 years in India but every meal was new to us) , small trekking to the temple on the top of the hill , Snow-crowned Himalayas' view from Large Window , sounds of birds , sunbathing in the balcony with amazing view , fun conversation with bonfire ... and so on . But most special thing is Mriganka's hospitality . He was always caring us and asked what we wanted. We enjoyed our conversation and share the culture each other .(India and Japan .)Thank you soooo much , I hope we can visit you soon ! Hey, please do try all kinds of achar, jam and chatni which they make. Its yum. Do carry your diary/notebook, this place provoke you instantly without making any effort. Artists should not forget to carry their stuff to capture the silence. Walking shoes are the must to carry and explore villages and hills. Visiting during winter could really be the right time to check our stars and planets. So, carrying telescope would be a great idea.

Metta Dhura is a perfect get away for all those looking for a peaceful calm place far away from the hustle bustle of the regular lives people lead . The location is perfect , the views are breathtaking and the surroundings are surreal . Mriganka is an amazing host , looking into all the requirements at all times . Very forthcoming . Bhuvan who is going to be assisting you with your dietary needs etc. requires a special mention . He has magic in his hands , some amazing culinary skills he’s got . Would recommend everyone to opt for the home cooked food by him to enjoy the place to the fullest . All in all It’s just a perfect place for a getaway for as long as it permits . Hey, we went to MettaDhura in the mid of June, to start our vacation week and truly we couldn't have hoped for a better start to the trip. The place is exactly as advertised, no false promises or anything. The host Mriganka is very friendly, humble and caring. Our anniversary was the next day, Mrs. Roma, the hostess prepared a cake for us, which was a lovely surprise❤️❤️ The food prepared by Bhuvan bhaiya was great. It is very secluded. You can stay in home and enjoy the quite and serene surroundings or you can go hiking in the property. The trees are heavy with fruits and the host welcomes you to have as many of them as your heart desires. Overall, a beautiful place to spend time in the lap of nature away from the city noises. Would highly recommend this place to people looking for the quite and serenity in the midst of nature.....5 stars...😄😄😄🤩🤩

Mriganka's place was definitely great value for money , it is located in a peaceful village and has a beautiful scenic view. The room itself was comfortable and has a mesmerizing view. Mrigank is a great host , he is very polite and friendly. we reached quite late in the evening but Mriganka was in touch though out and was guiding us. His team came out to the main road to receive us and guided us for the last 500 meters on the kutcha road. Mriganka and his team made sure that we got freshly cooked and delicious food all the 3 times of the day. all in all we had a comfortable and peaceful stay felt connected to nature.

A wonderful experience. Surreal location with a beautiful house equipped with all the amenities you would require. The perfect host and a very humble caretaker who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Overall a great experience will surely be visiting this place again.

One word: Amazing! Mriganka, our gracious host, greeted us as soon as we reached with lunch ready. We opted for the “Inspire” room on the 2nd floor, offering privacy with its separate entrance, kitchenette, bathroom, balcony, and superb views. A cozy woodfire chimney is present for cold winter days. The room’s décor surpasses pictures, with meticulous attention to detail and provided amenities. Over the 2-night, 3-day stay, we had a total of 6 locally sourced and very tasty home-cooked meals, each freshly prepared with care. Mriganka will make sure you are never hungry! The following day, we explored neighboring cottages and embarked on a little trek to Dhura village. Departure day held a considerate touch as Mriganka packed pahadi rajma and roti, knowing our preference. Beyond drive, views, food, and room, Mriganka’s hospitality stood out. Highly recommended for a serene staycation. It was a fulfilling experience of nourishment and rejuvenation away from the grinding city life.

Mriganka is a wonderful host, and was always available to offer suggestions such as nice treks around the place, local culture etc. The property is very well maintained and has got nice peaceful vibes with really good views of the mountains, lots of birds, fruit trees etc. The food that was served was amazing as well - very home-like and healthy. The other helper staff at the property were very helpful as well. Highly recommended if you are a nature lover.

It was a great and unique experience with solitude. We booked this place for 3 days on our first anniversary and we enjoyed every single moment throughout our stay. Bhuvan (the caretaker) has helped us with our Kumaon flavoured meals. Loved it!!! ❤️ Esp the view of the Himalayan range in the morning when you get up !!!

MettaDhura truly earns its name! With a wide view of all peaks of the central Himalayas, the serene beauty of the forest, and its beautiful flora and fauna, it could easily be called a nature lover's paradise. You could go shopping in Almora market streets, explore the hills on foot or even sit on the balcony and just enjoy the view. We got to experience the best of both seasons, monsoon and winter. The rain emitted a beautiful smell of petrichor and it was lovely to take a walk in the cool air. Meanwhile, in winter we stayed inside and enjoyed the warmth of the traditional fireplace, Bukhari. We also got to try a lot of traditional kumaoni food and freshly made pickles. We loved the place so much we came here twice. This place gives you perfect peace of mind and is worth putting your phone on silent. Altogether, it was an amazing experience.

Once you are there after a small trek you just think if something like this can exist, and when you are inside you feel so home, so comfortable, and the large window pane views just takes your breath away. It's a duplex facility with some splendid views from the attic where we settled our bedroom and we were so lucky to find magnificent view of Nanda Devi and Trishul peak views on both the evenings. "
